Parker Development Corporation Board member Curt Lukes article:

Living in a small community has very high advantages to me. It’s knowing your neighbors, being part of a family or community which you do not have in a larger city. Not only do you watch your family grow up but also your friends and neighbors children grow to adults and have families of their own. The best part is watching these kids come back home to Parker to raise their families and work or start a business in the community they grew up in.

I take a lot of pride in having a business in a small community and being able to work and help people in our community by providing jobs and services that otherwise wouldn’t be here. And I can honestly say that my staff and I work hard to keep our business in the community for you.

Like many other business owners I also serve on some Boards such as the Parker Development Corporation and the Southeastern Facilitation Project. Being on these Boards lets me help grow and develop our community.

The PDC works directly in our community to promote a higher quality of life and give us all the best life we can have in Parker. We work very hard to provide opportunities to those looking to get into business as well as supporting community involvement for all.

The SEFP works to help people with business ideas or the desire to start a business. There’s not a better reward for me than helping a person with a business idea come to reality in our community.

One thing I would like to see in Parker is more involvement from our younger generation. We need your involvement and input for the things you desire to have in our community. I encourage you to join us and help us build a better way of life for us all. Stop by and see me at Parker Ford or drop in on Bret in the development office.
