Let me introduce my self
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Cheri Kraemer. In our wonderful community I am the owner of Parker Pharmacy and am also a Board member of the Parker Development Corporation.
Some of you may know me as the hormone queen or your problem-solving pharmacist because of the compounding pharmacy (Pharmacy Specialties) I own in Sioux Falls. Some patients consider me their nutritional advisor because I often take a proactive approach to healthcare and try to find out what is the cause of the problem rather than just taking a band-aid approach. I am always reminding patients of what vitamins or minerals their prescriptions may be depleting so they can supplement and avoid unwanted side effects. More people know me as wife of Larry, and the mother of Lucas and Kiera!
Parker was my small town home growing up that I knew while visiting grandparents and working on our farm. I loved the community of Parker and when our family had the opportunity to move here in 1997 we jumped at the chance.
In 2000 we purchased White Pharmacy from Jim and Connie White. Dave Lambert was the South Eastern Facilitation Project coordinator at that time and he walked me through the process of getting a business plan together and introduced me to the Parker Development Corporation.
The Development Corporation was incredibly helpful to us as we worked out getting into business. It was great working with these local business owners that supported our efforts to get into the Pharmacy. It was also great that they offered help with financing through their revolving loan fund.
But something that made and even greater impression on us was how working with the development corporation introduced us to people in the community. The support of the community was invaluable and very inviting to us. A short time later, after our business was up and running, I was invited to be a development corporation board member. I jumped at the chance because with the positive experience I had and my newly honed business skills, I wanted the opportunity to help others as I had been helped.
The Parker Development Corporation remains a very proactive visionary group of individuals that want the community of Parker to be the best it can be. I am not sure the year it was started but all previous board members need to be complimented for their involvement. I know I’m very grateful for their help.
We are all volunteers with busy lives and busy families so there is always room for more active committee members. You may not even know who all the members are but we plan to introduce ourselves through articles like this one.
If you look around at other small towns of the same size you will realize what a great place Parker really is. Whether you’re an existing business owner or looking to go into business here in Parker, I encourage you to get involved with the Parker Development Corporation and our community because “Life is a little bigger” here.
