The Beginning of a Beautiful Friendship
As I sit here writing my first column, I’m amazed that 2 months have already passed for me here in Parker. I am very grateful at how welcoming those of you I have met have made me feel. It’s a true testament to the positive spirit of our community. And one that will serve us well as we continue to build our future together.
I’m not sure if many of you know how lucky Parker is to have such a progressive and aggressive Development Corporation? I’ll go on the record and say how lucky I am to work with this group of folks who have consistently put Parkers future at the forefront of their efforts.
Of course some of you may not know what the Development Corporation does for Parker so I’ll try and give you the Cliff Notes version. The Parker Development Corporation (PDC) works to enhance and improve our ability to work, live and prosper here. We seek to heighten the business climate to attract in new business opportunities or help our existing businesses expand and we work to improve the quality of life in Parker so you choose to live here, work here, shop here and enjoy your life here.
I have big shoes to fill as we move forward. My predecessor and now one of my bosses, Mark Kasten, was on the front lines, if not spearheading, many of the new opportunities that have come to Parker in the last 5 years. From helping businesses to building bike trails Mark was there. But something I find even more important than those accomplishments is that Mark has now chosen to go into business here realizing all the potential of Parker.
Maybe you’re ready to realize your full potential in Parker. The PDC actively pursues ways we can invest in our town that will pay dividends for its future. You’re always welcome to stop by the PDC office to chat about your business idea or feel free calling me @ 297.4305.
